This May, head to some of Glasgow’s best restaurants and get eating for charity - it’s a food lovers dream!
Organised by the Glasgow Restaurant Association (GRA), and in association with 5pm.co.uk, 'Maggie's May' will see the proceeds of a very special £15.95 Dine Around Menu being offered by over 55 city restaurants including Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery, Alla Turca and The Corinthian Club, go to Maggie’s Centre in Glasgow.
Maggie’s May is part of the GRA's continuing 'Who Gives a Fork?' campaign; a year-long drive to change the face and the fear of cancer one prong at a time and raise £100,000 for Maggie’s in 2011.
stv.tv reporter Laura Boyd, who is battling leukaemia, said: “Maggie’s Centre is a fantastic place and a vital resource for many cancer patients.
“Having made use of the Glasgow centre myself, I will certainly be heading along to one of the participating restaurants as £15.95 for a delicious meal and the knowledge that the money is going to such a worthwhile charity, is certainly cause for celebration.”
Glasgow Restaurant Association Chair, Ryan James, "Since launching our campaign only a few months ago, diners have been tremendously generous and we've already raised around £6000.00. Maggie's May Dinearound is a great and simple way to generate more funds in aid of a brilliant and worthwhile charity.”
