Patrick Nevin

Pat Nevin, one of the most naturally gifted players to emerge from football in the 1980’s, enjoyed a 20-year career as a winger for Clyde, Chelsea, Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Kilmarnock and Motherwell.

Patrick Nevin was born in Inverness on September 6, 1963 and is best known for his 20-year contribution to Scottish footballer. Throughout his career, he played as a winger for Clyde, Chelsea, Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Kilmarnock and Motherwell.

Nevin is now a sports commentator on BBC Scotland's Sportscene and Channel Five and BBC Radio Five Live.
 
Throughout his 20-year football career, Nevin was most famously known for his stint at Chelsea where he gained legendary status as a tricky, inventive winger.

Playing for his country, Nevin won 28 caps for the Scottish national side after making his debut against Romania in 1986. He scored five goals in a 10-year international career and played at the European Championship in Sweden in 1992.

Known as an intelligent, individual performer with musical tastes that fall outside that of the usual footballer, Nevin was immortalised as the game's first "indie" footballer when gracing the cover of NME magazine.
