Hamira Khan started her working life aged 24 as a marketing junior with British Airways before going on to create a leading consultancy company, specialising in culturally sensitive campaigns with offices in Glasgow’s City Centre.
She has acted as a mentor for many aspiring entrepreneurs and given assistance to local government bodies on how to develop their enterprise culture within the Scottish black and ethnic minority communities.
In 2004, she was nominated for Young Female of the Year, as well as being shortlisted for the Women into Enterprise award by Glasgow City Council.
Hamira was one of twelve national companies invited to participate in the successful trade mission to Pakistan for the formal twinning of Lahore and Glasgow to boost business, trade and education links between the two cities.
In late 2005, Hamira moved to the Middle East when Dubai became the logical place to do business. After working with a variety of private and statutory clients, Hamira recently returned to Glasgow to work with local communities on a range of issues, including social cohesion and inspiring, motivating and helping young people to achieve personal success.
Her passion and interests are in social action and she has spoken on issues as varied as child abuse within ethnic communities, talent in diversity to social enterprise.
