Louise Scott started her career in Sales and Marketing, then spent 10 years as European Human Resources Manager for software manufacturer Adobe Systems.
In 2001 Louise co-founded and launched Tidalfire Ltd, a training and consulting company specialising in print, web and electronic document solutions for the business community and was awarded Regional Winner of the 2004 Association of Scottish Business Women's - Enterprising New Business Award.
Louise travelled to Greenland in 2000, 2001 and 2002 to participate in the World Ice Golf Championships taking place in Uummannaq, 600 kilometres north of the Artic Circle..
These trips sparked ideas for greater, more challenging expeditions and in 2005, she became the first Scottish woman in 40 years to ski across the Greenland ice cap. The journey lasted 23 days in temperatures as low as -28C.
In 2007, Louise embarked on a ski mountaineering expedition in the Watkins Range. As well as successfully reaching the summit of Gunnbjrn Fjeld, the team enjoyed the challenge of conquering many other summits during the 25 days they spent on the glacier.
Louise has presented to a wide range of audiences from school assemblies to senior business managers by drawing on her experience of business management, coupled with the focus and discipline required to survive gruelling Arctic expeditions.
