Prestwick International Airport is on the Clyde coast, about 30 miles / 48 km south-west of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city. Travel by train to and from the city centre takes about 45 minutes.
It is easy to reach the adjacent train station from the airport, using escalators, lifts and a covered walkway.
Trains run approximately every half hour from early till late six days a week, and every hour on Sundays.
On the platform, there is a platform monitor screen giving details of trains and also a press-button help point.
It is not necessary to have a train ticket to board the train as these may be purchased on the train. Announcements are made prior to arrival at each station on the journey and there is also a visual display.
For coastal views, sit on the left-hand side of the train.
Glasgow Central is the terminus in the heart of the city.
