Inverary and District Pipe Band have proven to be one of piping's all time success stories since they were founded in 2005.
Under Pipe Major Stuart Lidell, the band climbed the piping ranks incredibly quickly, rising from the grade of Novice Juvenile in 2005 right up to grade one in 2009.
The group were first set up by Stuart Lidell in 2005 in order to promote piping amongst local youngsters in the Inverary area. They played their first competition in 2005 at the Cowal Highland Gathering using borrowed drums and their own kilts.
Inverary and District will be competing in Grade One at this year's World Pipe Band Championships, having finished 8th in 2010 – a rather incredible achievement for a band's first entry in the highest grade.
Piping Live continues all week in venues around Glasgow. Check out all of our Piping Live! coverage here
