A report from April 1990 concerns brothers Michael and Trevor Davies, who claimed to have been the first people to spot the Loch Ness Monster in that year.
The brothers were fishing on the shore of the loch with a friend from the Loch Ness House Hotel in Inverness.
They saw a black creature in the water a quarter of a mile away, and it swam towards them as the mist rose from the loch.
The creature then surfaced and was clearly visible for about five minutes.
“It was far too big to have been a seal,” says Michael Davies. “It’ll never be a seal, far too big. I’ve seen seals, quite a lot of seals, but have never seen anything that size to be a seal.”
Trevor Davies adds: “I can’t say what it was. It was alarming in a way. It’s very hard to describe what you could think it was.”
The brothers stayed on the shore for several hours, but the creature refused to reappear.
