STV news presenter John MacKay has been named as an Olympic torchbearer as details of the route around Scotland are revealed.
The journalist is among hundreds of people who have been awarded the honour of carrying the iconic flame on its journey through Scotland in June.
Mr MacKay will join the torch relay at Stranraer on June 8, as the flame travels out of the centre of Glasgow and towards Inverness.
He said: "The Olympic torch encapsulates so many ideals that we can all aspire to.
"Being asked to be a torchbearer is one of those things you just cannot say no to. It is a great honour."
An average of 115 torchbearers a day will carry the flame during its 8000-mile journey around the UK before it arrives at the Olympic Stadium in London on July 27, for the lighting of the cauldron at the opening ceremony.
Sebastian Coe, chairman of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games, said: "Today we bring the Olympic torch relay to life.
"The flame symbolises the Olympic spirit and its journey around the UK will bring the excitement of the Games to our streets.
"Now the people know the route the Olympic flame will be carried along and the torchbearers for their community, they can start planning how they might celebrate."
The programme for the torch relay can be viewed in full online, with street-by-street details and proposed times for when the flame will reach individual communities.
A variety of local people will be torchbearers following nominations for their community work and achievements.
Emma Baird, 15, will carry the torch through Glasgow. She was a competitive swimmer and footballer until she was diagnosed with having upper femoral epiphysis, which meant her hip had dislocated from the socket, stopping her from playing sport again.
The Bannerman High School pupil said: "What a privilege. This truly is a once in a lifetime experience and I would like to thank everyone for allowing me to take part in this unique event. I can't wait."
